Same problem on my iPhone 4.
It is UNBLOCKED, but when I upgraded to iOS 5, I see the SIM CARD NOT SUPPORTED messsage, like if it was locked… but it isn’t.
Impossible to activate without a canadian Sim Card. But I am in Brazil.
I did the Untethered RedSnow Jailbreak. Now, it appears NO SERVICE.
Can I try the same steps with my iPhone 4?
    What else do you recommended?
    Thanks.

Thanks so much! I had to go slightly off the directions and use the “custom ipsw” option in extras because it wasnt recognizing the firmware file for some reason. After I did that it was fairly smooth sailing. Thanks again your video was a huge help to someone in a tight financial position who couldnt afford to buy a new phone just because apple booby trapped their new ios.
